Graduate of the Faculty of Painting of the St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.E.Repin (Russian Academy of Arts). Having passed an unusual creative path from abstract, decorative painting, today Andrey Kartashov is a convinced realist, an adherent of the "Repin school". Multiple participant of All–Russian and international exhibitions of the Academy of Arts, winner of the awards "For the best drawing of the Year", "Best Thematic Painting", etc. Since 2006 - member of the American Association of Portrait Painters, as well as a permanent prize-winner of art competitions of the Association, participant of art festivals in Holland, Poland, Hungary. His works are in the Foundation of the Academy of Arts, private collections in Russia, Germany, Spain, USA, China, France, Canada. Since 2009, A. Kartashov has regularly held exhibitions in China.
